Increase of main fraud types reported by e-merchants worldwide 2022, by country
In 2022, around a quarter of e-merchants in Mexico experienced increasing friendly fraud. In Germany, almost one-third of merchants reported a surge in this type of fraud, while half observed a rise in promotion abuse. Among the analyzed countries, Canada and Australia had the most web merchants reporting an increase in online payment fraud, with approximately 70 percent of respondents indicating so.
