Reading preference of youth aged 7 to 19 years old in France in March 2022, by genre
In the beginning of 2022, the "Centre national du livre" (CNL) launched a survery to examine the reading habits of the youth in France and to have a better understanding of their reading motivation or their lack of it. In this context, respondents of the survey aged 7 to 19 years old were also asked which type of books they had been reading most frequently.The favourite book genres read by youth readers in France are bandes dessinées (Franco-Belgian comic books), with a share of 55 percent of respondents, novels (46 percent) and mangas (40 percent).
