Brazil: population's trust in news sources 2022

During a face-to-face survey carried out in Brazil in March 2022, approximately 41 percent of respondents said TV news was a trustworthy source of information. Radio news and print newspapers followed, mentioned by 39 and 38 percent of the interviewees, respectively. While 19 percent of respondents expressed trust in the messaging app Telegram as a news source, the share of responding people who trusted Facebook, TikTok, and/or WhatsApp stood below 15 percent. According to another source, about seven out of ten Brazilian internet users utilized Telegram as of the third quarter of 2021.
