In 2022, consumers returned to movie theaters in the United States after a long period of lockdowns and isolation. There are age differences in the share of consumers who saw a movie at the theaters in 2022. For instance, 37 percent of those who saw a movie were 18 to 34, while 18 percent were 35 to 44. 45 to 64 year-old movie goers made up 29 percent of those who visited in 2022.
