According to the most recently available data, the frequency of visiting a movie theater to see a film among U.S. adults fluctuated greatly according to age - 20 percent of adults aged 18 to 29 years reported watching a movie in a theater once per month or more, compared to just nine percent of respondents aged 55 to 64 years old. The majority of adults aged 45 or above only saw movies in the cinema once a year or less.
