Value growth of FMCG market basket products in Romania 2023
All product macro-categories experienced significant value growth in the first half of 2023. The highest growth is in the food category (19.7 percent), representing over half of Romania’s total FMCG market basket, followed by non-alcoholic beverages, which saw a value growth of 17.5 percent. Non-food products increased in value by 16.6 percent, while alcoholic beverages grew by only 12.3 percent due to a portion of consumption shifting towards the hotels, restaurants, and cafes sector.
