Smartphone apps MAUs in the U.S. 2023, by category

As of July 2023, the mobile app market in the United States saw almost 256 million users. Of these, over 200 million were users engaging on video apps on a monthly basis. Maps and navigation apps were the second most used app category, with 190 million monthly active users (MAUs). Social media apps followed, recording around 187 million users in the U.S. as of the examined period. In comparison, dating apps saw less than 30 million users monthly.
