Social media news consumption in the U.S. 2019, by gender
According to a study held in the United States in the final quarter of 2019, women were more likely than men to use social media as a source of news, with 55 percent turning to social media sites for their news on a weekly basis. Additionally, 22 percent of women stated that they used social media as their main news source, compared to just 15 percent of men.
