As of September 2019, ‘One Piece’, written and illustrated by Japanese artist Eiichiro Oda, was the bestselling manga series in the world, having sold 454 million copies globally. As a whole, the Japanese animation industry sells billions of dollars worth of animation industry products each year in order to meet the demand of millions of fans from around the world.
