During 2021's Christmas season – from December 6, 2021, to January 2, 2022 – book retailers across Brazil generated 235 million Brazilian reals in revenue. One year before, the figure amounted to less than 206 million reals during the same period. Retail book sales revenue during the Black Friday season in Brazil added up to nearly 217 million reals in 2021.
