In 2019, State monuments and archeological sites with paying entrance in Italy registered the highest number of visitors in the month of August. Specifically, about one million individuals visited these cultural institutions with an admission fee during this month. By contrast, public monuments and archaeological sites with free entrance in Italy registered the greatest number of visitors in April.
