The income of state museum complexes in Italy increased sharply in 2023 over the previous year, recovering from the impact of COVID-19. After declining to around 10 million euros with the onset of the pandemic, the income of state museum complexes amounted to over 90 million euros in 2023, the highest figure reported to date. That year, the income of state monuments and archaeological areas and the income of state museums in Italy also exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
