Brazil: key figures on ride-hailing & ride-sharing app 99 in 2020

Ride-hailing and ride-sharing app 99 contributed with 12.2 billion Brazilian reals to the gross domestic product (GDP) of Brazil in 2019. That corresponded to 0.18 percent of the South American country's GDP. The app was bought by Chinese company Didi Chuxing in 2018. Approximately one third of Brazilian internet users who participated in a recent survey said that they had used private transport apps.
