Mexico: monthly sales volume of light vehicles 2019-2020

The number of light vehicles sold in Mexico dropped below 35,000 units in April 2020, a decline of more than 64.5 percent compared to the sales volume reported during the same month a year earlier. The severe slowdown in the automobile demand is related to the health emergency declared by the Mexican government at the end of March 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Although since then light vehicle sales in the country increased continuously, until October 2020 figures remained around 20 percent below the monthly average of 110 units sold in the previous year.
