Monthly international air passengers traffic in Colombia 2019-2021
In May 2021, the international air passenger traffic from and to Colombia amounted to approximately 543 thousand travelers. This represented an almost 25-fold increase in comparison with the number of international arrivals and departures of air passengers reported during the same month a year earlier. The abrupt decrease in international passenger air traffic in 2020 is due to restrictions imposed by the Colombian government to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 in its territory. Among the measures taken, Colombian President Iván Duque decided, since March 23 2020, not to allow any person coming from abroad to enter the country, whether they are Colombian or citizens of other countries.
