Venezuelan refugees in Latin America by country 2021

Peru was the Latin American country with the highest number of Venezuelan asylum seekers in 2021. Over 531,800 Venezuelan citizens had presented an application for asylum in Peru in 202q and another 4,100 were granted refugee status under UNHCR mandate. Brazil followed second, with almost 85,750 asylum seekers and over 48,900 Venezuelan citizens recognized as refugees.
