Jägermeister - Statistics & Facts

Jägermeister is dark-colored herb liqueur, which is manufactured by Mast-Jägermeister SE in Wolfenbüttel, Germany. It was invented in 1934 and was introduced to the German market around one year later. The herb liqueur belongs to the bitter category and is stored in square, dark-green bottles with its trademark deer image displayed above the Jägermeister label.

Today, Jägermeister is very popular outside of Germany and has been widely exported since the beginning of the 1970’s. The company Mast-Jägermeister SE generated revenue of about 620.8 million U.S. dollars in 2015. Recent statistics show that 62 percent of product sales stemmed from European countries and 38 percent originated from outside of Europe in 2015.

One of Jägermeister's most important single market can be found in the United States. In terms of dollar sales, the liqueur was ranked in the top 15 spirits list in the United States in 2015 and industry experts assume Jägermeister to gain further in prominence over the next years.
