In the ‘battle of the brands’, tech companies continue their domination. China
and its big tech companies are proving the driving force behind Asia’s regional value growth this year.
According to a newly released ranking
on the most valuable brands in Asia by Kantar Millward Brown, 80 percent of the brands that made it into the list this year were Chinese and five of the Chinese brands are technology-related. Tencent was named Asia’s most valuable brand
. The behemoth is a leading provider of internet services in China and its brand value amounted to approximately 179 billion U.S. dollars in 2018.
