Amazon is the most valuable retail brand in the world, according to Kantar’s most recent Brandz ranking. Alibaba, often dubbed the Chinese Amazon, is ranked second by Kantar, but there is still a very visible gap between the two online retail giants of the world. Worth $415.9 billion, Amazon still has more than double the brand value of Alibaba.
Next up on the list are McDonald's, hardware store chain The Home Depot and French luxury label Louis Vuitton. Looking at all brands, not just those in retail, Amazon still is the most valuable in the world, while Alibaba comes 7th.
Since the ranking was created before the coronavirus pandemic, the most recent changes are not reflected in it.
