Google and Facebook Set to Dominate Display Ads
According to an eMarketer forecast published this week, Google will earn more money from display advertising than any other company in the United States this year. Google is expected to rake in $2.3 billion this year, while the forecast for last year’s leader Facebook has been cut to $2.16 billion.
Google now looks set to take the majority share in the U.S. search, display and mobile advertising market, impressively proving its status as the number one player in online advertising.
In terms of display advertising, eMarketer expects Google and Facebook to dominate the market for the foreseeable future, while other heavyweights, such as Yahoo, Microsoft and AOL are expected to see their market share slowly erode.
