Facebook was the most popular social media platform among Danish internet users in 2018, regardless of age. Nevertheless, some generations seemed to be more keen on using the platform. In detail, 82 percent of the respondents aged between 16 and 24 years used Facebook, whereas the corresponding figure for 75- to 89-year-old internet users was 12 percent. Among the other most common social media platforms were Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube. On average, Twitter was used by one percent of the internet users on average that year.
