This statistic depicts the results of a survey conducted in July 2018 in Japan asking individuals about the types of clothing they consider inappropriate for work, sorted by category. During the surveyed period, the majority of respondent, over 64 percent, considered shorts and knickerbockers as inappropriate business attire choices, while only about eight percent felt that not wearing a necktie to work is problematic.
