Italy: unemployment rate of recent postgraduates

This statistic shows the unemployment rate among individuals with a master’s degree interviewed one year after graduation in Italy from 2007 to 2017. According to the data, the unemployment rate peaked at 24.4 percent in 2012 for graduates holding a master’s degree obtained by graduating from a two-years master program. Regarding students holding a single-cycle master’s degree the unemployment rate peaked at 30.1 percent in 2013. Thereafter, the unemployment rate gradually decreased for both categories of postgraduates.

*Single-cycle master's programs are courses for which there is no distinction between graduate and postgraduate studies. These programs can last from five to six years, at the end of which students get a certificate that is the equivalent of a master's degree.
