Total credit to the non-financial sector in developed and emerging countries

In the second quarter of 2022, nearly 141 trillion U.S. dollars worth of credit had been lent to the non-financial sector in advanced economies. Meanwhile, those figures were twice as high as the volume of credit to the non-financial sector in emerging markets. This is a slight decrease from the same period of the previous year. The non-financial sector includes the private non-financial sector and the government sector.

The values are 'total credit', and include financing from all sources, including domestic banks, other domestic financial corporations, non-financial corporations and non-residents.
