As of 2020, a survey was conducted about Italians' food preferences. Unsurprisingly, it was found that 65 percent of the people interviewed declared that they could never give up on pizza, followed by 11 percent who preferred sweet dishes such as sweets and cakes. Only one percent of the interviewees asserted that meat is a type of food they could not give up.
