Biodiesel sales volume in Argentina 2010-2021, by type
In 2021, sales of biodiesel for blending with diesel fuel in Argentina amounted to approximately 438 thousand metric tons, a decline of over eight percent in comparison to the previous year. This is the fourth consecutive year of decline. In contrast, between 2010 and 2017, domestic sales of biodiesel in the country had experienced a continual increasing trend. A new biofuels law passed in mid-2021 aims to reduce the Argentine mandated biodiesel blend rate from 10 to five percent.
