Distribution of outstanding government-issued debt securities in Italy 2022
The majority of Italy's outstanding securities were made up of treasury bonds or BTPs as of May 2022. In total, around 2.3 trillion euros of securities were outstanding as of May 2022. More than three quarters of this was comprised of treasury bonds, with a further 9.72 percent being index-linked treasury bonds.
