Japan: status of gender equality in customs 2022

According to a survey conducted in 2022 on gender equality in Japan, over 73 percent of respondents believed that men are favored to at least some extent in Japanese customs and traditions. Under four percent of survey participants were the opinion that women in Japan received preferential treatment in this area.
