According to the results of a survey conducted in October 2021, the majority of U.S. consumers were planning to serve large or average-size turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner. Only a small percentage of those surveyed said they were not serving whole turkey, or any turkey at all. The source defined large turkeys as 16 or more pounds.
