Expert opinion on digital public space impact on future of society 2021
A global online survey conducted in August 2021 asked experts their opinion of how digital public spaces will evolve and potentially effect society. Overall, 70 percent of respondents said that digital platforms were evolving in ways that are both positive and negative. In addition, 18 percent of participants stated that the future of open virtual spaces will be mostly negative and continue to create significant difficulties for society. In contrast, 10 percent of experts asserted that the future of online spaces is likely to be positive.
