Leading pasta and noodle brands in Great Britain 2016-2018, by number of users

With an estimated 7.3 million consumers, the most popular brand of fresh or dried pasta and noodles in 2018 was Tesco.
When supermarkets are taken out of the equation the most popular brand of pasta is Napolina, which was launched in the UK in 1965. In addition to being a popular pasta brand, Napolina pasta sauces were also a favorite amongst the British public. However, the most popular brand of pasta sauce is Dolmio. Along with its Dolmio Express line of products, the brand had an estimated 8.8 million users in 2018.

Consumption frequency

  Those consuming pasta or noodles once a week or more amounted to an estimated 13.7 million people in 2018, a slight decrease from the previous year. In comparison, the number of Brits who consumed these products less than once a month has increased annually since 2013, rising to 2.3 million.

Convenience food

  Although cooking food from scratch can often be more satisfying, convenience food is the preferred option for many people in Britain, with pasta and noodles the most popular. Chilled or frozen ready-meals are also a popular alternative to cooking, with more than eight million people eating ready-meals once a week or more.
