This statistic shows the results of the survey on Twitter users in Sweden in 2016, broken down by age group. People aged 16 to 25 years have used Twitter the most with 29 percent of individuals in this age group using the social media platform. The second age group by share of Twitter users were 12 to 15 year olds (29 percent of users). Twitter appears to be more popular among the younger generation (up to 35 years old) while the middle-aged people used it less (20 percent of users in 36 to 45 years age group and 15 percent in 46 to 55 years age group). The usage of Twitter drops down significantly among users aged 56 and older. Twitter user numbers have plateaued in Sweden in the past few years, standing at 18 percent in 2016. When looking into Twitter usage frequency, a quarter of Twitter users (25%) have used Twitter daily in Sweden in 2016.
