Consequences of joining the euro in non-euro EU member states 2019, by country This statistic illustrates the perceived consequences of introducing the euro for European Union (EU) member states not currently in the eurozone as of 2019, broken down by country. It can be seen that 56 percent of respondents in Hungary felt that joining the euro area would have mostly positive consequences for their country. Romania also had a large share of respondents stating that the consequences of joining the euro would be positive, a share of 52 percent. On the other hand, only 38 percent of respondents in Sweden felt that joining the euro would bring mostly positive consequences as of April 2019.
