
Production volume of euro banknotes in production in eurozone 2005-2020
The statistic illustrates the quantity of euro banknotes produced by institutions in the eurozone from 2005 to 2020. The volume and value of currency produced is not always the same as the currency issued into circulation. It can be seen that the quantity of euro banknotes produced fluctuated during this period, reaching a total volume of 5.72 billion notes as of 2020. The largest volume of euro banknotes produced during the period under observation were produced in 2009, when almost 11 billion banknotes were produced. The smallest volume of euro banknotes (3.63 billion notes) produced during this period were produced in 2005.
