Social media use experiences of young people in Finland 2019

According to the 2019 survey, 95 percent of young people aged 13 to 29 years in Finland stated that for them social media usage is a way to spend time. When asked about the experiences of social media use, nearly as many respondents said that they can find more information about their personal interests and that social media services bring joy in life. The majority of young people had experienced feelings of togetherness, accomplishment or peer support through social media, while roughly 47 percent associated feelings of sadness with the use of social media.
