Whereas 27 percent of the respondents were familiar with the EU organic logo when it was shown to them, the corresponding figure in 2017 was 41 percent. The share of people that answering "cannot say" remained the same in both of the surveyed years. The logo is also known as Euro leaf. Promoting organic and local produce has been a strategic objective for Finnish agricultural policy since 2013. As one of the EU member countries, the production in Finland is regulated and defined along the EU legislation and in international agreements. The EU organic logo aims to make organic products easier to identify by the consumers.
