Italy: share of readers by age in 2010 and 2016

This statistic shows a comparison between the share of Italian readers of same age in 2010 and in 2016. According to the study results, the number of young people aged between six and 17 who read at least a book in the previous year fell from nearly 60 percent in 2010 to 47 percent in 2016. Similarly, the share of adult readers also decreased in this period, albeit less drastically (from 45 percent to 39 percent).
