UK: preferred methods for researching products in 2016 This survey represents the preferred methods of researching products in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2016. For all product categories, it is more popular to do research online than in-store. The narrowest gap between in-store and online research is in the groceries category, 41.1 percent state that they research groceries online, while 39.4 percent claim that they do it in-store. The category of groceries is also the category with the highest percent stating they do research for it in-store. For online research, the most popular category is books, music, movies and video games.
