Distribution of cinema attendance in Denmark 2012-2021, by origin of the films
In 2021, movies from the United States kept a record-low market share in movie ticket sales in Denmark, at 37 percent. Meanwhile, European films from out of Denmark reached an all-time high of 20 percent. Danish productions accounted for 42 percent of the cinema attendance in the Nordic country. That year, more than half of Denmark's domestic movies were fully financed by Danish sources.
