In 2018, Mexican households spent around 8.01 percent of their quarterly expenditure on consuming food outside the household. Meats accounted for 6.22 percent of quarterly household expenditure and cereals to 4.82 percent. The average quarterly spending value of food, beverage and tobacco in Mexico amounted to 11,252 Mexican pesos per household in 2018.
