Reasons for reading printed community newspapers in Canada 2020

A study conducted in 2020 revealed that the main reason Canadian newspaper readers liked to read printed community papers was to find local information, whereas just 42 percent used community newspapers to search for jobs. Printed readers were more interested in advertising than digital readers, with 50 percent of respondents reading printed community newspapers for ads compared to 30 percent of digital newspaper readers.
