Most popular products on Black Friday in the Netherlands 2018, by category and gender This statistic shows the answers to a survey question on which types of products male and female consumers in the Netherlands were willing to wait to buy until Black Friday in 2018. Black Friday is a phenomenon from the United States that involves large deals and discounts on the day after Thanksgiving, the fourth Thursday in November. Traditionally, that day marks the beginning of the country's Christmas shopping season and in recent years the tradition became more popular in Europe as well. In 2018, both men (52 percent) and women (34) indicated they were interested to wait for products regarding Image and Sound, such as televisions, home cinema sets, soundbars, media players and VR headsets. Smartphones & Tablets was another popular category.
