Italy: awareness about olive oil origin 2018, by sales channel

This statistic illustrates the results of a survey on the awareness of Italian consumers about olive oil in Italy as of June 2018, broken down by sales channel. According to data, about 16 percent of respondents who usually bought olive oil in supermarkets, hypermarkets and large scale retailers had no information on the olive oil they purchased. By contrast, nearly nine in ten consumers who usually bought olive oil directly from the producer knew that the harvest and the production stages were both carried out in the same place.
