Plastic packaging waste generation per capita in the EU-27 2021, by country
Ireland was the biggest producer of plastic packaging waste per capita in the European Union in 2021, at more than 74 kilograms per person. Portugal ranked second that year, with just over 41 kilograms of plastic packaging waste produced per capita. The average EU plastic packaging waste generation per capita was estimated at roughly 36 kilograms that year.
