UK motor vehicle manufacturing on the up
Aston Martin announced on Tuesday that they will be producing their new DBX model in St Athan, Wales. Having been chosen over more than 20 other worldwide locations including China, the new plant will create more than 750 jobs come the planned start of full production in 2020 - great news for the UK motor vehicle manufacturing industry.
In fact, unlike manufacturing in total which has somewhat stagnated in recent years, motor vehicle production output has been on the up. Having not only recovered from the 2008 recession but even surpassed pre-crisis levels, the future is looking good for the industry and its contribution to Brand Britain.
