Female Directors Underrepresented at the Golden Globes
Golden Globes
The nominees for next year's 74th edition of the Golden Globes are set to be announced on Monday. The actual award ceremony will be held at the beginning of January 2017 in Los Angeles. As our infographic shows female directors have historically been somewhat underrepresented. Since 1980 there have been 181 male nominees and only 6 women on the short list. Most recently Ava DuVernay was nominated for a Golden Globe in this category for directing the film Selma (2014).
