According to an analysis of remittances and currency exchanges in South Korea in 2018, when male customers visited bank branches to exchange currencies, the older they were, the more they exchanged. Elderly men over 70 years old exchanged the most, around 2,400 U.S. dollars. Men in their 30s exchanged around 1,900 dollars, a relatively large amount compared to men in their 20s or 40s.
