Mexico: sales value of tequila 2015-2018

Sales of tequila produced in Mexico attained a value of more than 39 billion Mexican pesos in 2018, including sales to the domestic and foreign markets. This represents an increase of nearly 14 percent in comparison to the previous year. Also in 2018, the most sold category of tequila was white tequila (tequila blanco, in Spanish), accounting for 42 percent of the total sales value. Tequila is a distilled beverage made from the agave plant, and is one of the most traditional alcoholic beverages in Mexico.
