Households that purchased something for the first time online in Colombia 2020
In order to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Colombian government decreed a total quarantine throughout the national territory, which became effective on March 25, 2020. Confined to their homes, households in Colombia increasingly turned to online shopping. According to a study conducted between March and May, the percentage of households that reported buying something online that they had never purchased this way went from 6 percent in the first two weeks of confinement to 18 percent by mid-May.
