Consumer reasons for spending less during Christmas in the UK 2020

A recent survey revealed that more than one third of UK consumers' Christmas spending intention was impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. When asked about the main reasons for spending less over the Christmas period in 2020, another 28 percent of respondents said they did not plan visiting physical shops this year, and as a result expected to spend less. Lockdown measures were another common reason, given by one quarter of consumers.
